In the article about customizing views on iOS devices we told that we have been working under the same functionality for Android devices. Now it’s time to prove it and tell a little bit about the features that will be waiting for you in the new Android version, which we are actively developing right now.
At first we would like to say that you should expect more than just a new version - an app is developed mostly from scratch, considering all modern technologies and our previous experience, which was gained by developing MLO for PocketPC, BlackBerry, iPhone and iPad.
Our specialists designed an improved and modern UI and we suggest to look at it:
Main menu, MLO for Android v2 |
Outline, MLO for Android v2 |
Task details, MLO for Android v2 |
- We have improved automatic synchronization and added conflict resolution - that’s how we've gained the continuing relevance of data for all client devices on which MLO application is installed.
- We always remember that most of our users appreciate MyLifeOrganized for the flexibility of settings and this feature is one of the main directions in MLO development. For new Android version we have implemented the possibility to create custom views right on the device and import them from the desktop. We can say with confidence that a rare Android program can boast such settings flexibility.
- There is a special function to create dependencies between different tasks in MLO for iOS and Windows, and it will also be available for Android devices. If the task cannot be completed while the previous one is not done, it won’t be displayed in the list of Active Actions, which means that planning is becoming more effective!
- In the end we would like to announce one of the main news - we are developing both smartphone and tablet Android versions at once, as we previously promised.
Soon we will post the next portion of functions, which we are now adding to MyLifeOrganized for Android, and after that we plan to announce the release of the app. We know how long our clients were waiting for it, and that’s why we want to make MLO much more technologically evolved, compared to the previous versions. Thank you very much for your support!
You can subscribe to our newsletter, to be the first to know about MLO for Android V2 release. As we are in the process of development right now, we would be grateful, if you tell us in comments the most wanted new version features, which are on top of your list.

Will you be able to save your custom view settings?
ReplyDeleteSure!
DeleteCalendar view?
ReplyDeleteYes it is in plan for v2.
DeleteWhen it will implemented? Will it be a free upgrade for current Pro v1 users?

DeleteEagerly waiting for the calendar view
ReplyDeleteWill manually ordered tasks preserve order when syncing with the Android client?
ReplyDeleteI subscribe to this idea. Ideally, manual order of To-Do tasks could be synched across clients / devices.
DeleteI would also like this feature.
DeleteThank you!! This will be great. When do you estimate to release the new version?
ReplyDeleteMy main feature request is FASTER sync. :)
DeleteI'm curious, how slow is your Sync, and how large is your file?
DeleteI think Sync works fast enough for me, it takes just a few seconds... I have around 300 tasks, some of them with long notes.
Will tasks be able to be assigned to people?
ReplyDeleteLooks great!
ReplyDeleteCouple of things. love how I can order my Active starred tasks on my desktop and have them show up in order on my phone for as I go through day checking them off, but if I add anything on my phone it goes to the bottom of the list. It would be great to have a way w version 2 to be able to move the task up or down.
Love the private LAN sync feature, like most business people I use a laptop on the road and a desktop at home, it would be great to be able to sync with more than one PC without using the cloud.
Speaking of syncing, a sync icon on the widget is really needed.
Awesome program, only beginning to learn how to use it's many features.
You guys are great!
Will you be providing a local encryption option?
ReplyDeleteFull recurrence options like in desktop mode. Recurring X days, X weeks, X months after the task is complete option is crucial. It is tiresome and anoying thing that I should turn on the computer and edit in desktop and sync when I need it.
ReplyDeleteAre you going to add functionality for sharing tasks or folders with other users?
ReplyDeleteYour specialists perfectly designed an improved and modern UI. Awsome job. I like to share that IOS development companies like to develop such kinds of awesome apps to provide smooth user experience and multiple helpful posts.
ReplyDeleteThe actual verison of MLO for Android does work well on Blackberry 10 devices (tested on Z10 and Q10, runs better on Z10 due to more space on screen).
ReplyDeleteI wonder if you plan to check if the new version of MLO would run on Blackberry devices, as well?
That would be an advantage for you as there is no additional work but a new market for your App.
I would very much welcome if the app would get a more sophisticated design. Just take over what you desiged for iPhone. MLO for iPhone is just genious, by far much better in terms of design and usability compared to MLO for Android. Please revise your decicion regarding the overall design.
Thanks
Are you planning to create connection with MS project? - when defining which resource I am, automatically or at least by file-sharing, synchronizes the tasks. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWow, a long awaited update...
ReplyDeleteMy two most wanted features are:
- colors: in MLO on Windows we can paint our tasks in different colours, fills, bold... then on Android they all become the same... this is not just aesthetics, it breaks a method of organization.
- quick date handling: on Palm I used to have the option to tap a task, and get a menu to change the due date (today, tomorrow, in two days, in one week, one month). In MLO I have to tap about 7 times to get this done. This is also critical for certain time management techniques where you rely on due date. So, for some people, it might not be important; but for others, it can be the most repeated basic gesture of organization.
I know you can prioritize feature requests by "how many people request feature X", but you could also pay some attention to "features that SOME people will rely on for the basic things, dozens of times a day".
Thanks and keep up the good work!
I will second both those requests.
DeleteColour differentiation is very useful...
But more effective menu operation is makes an app really sing. Currently the Android app has too many layers to change simple/often used features.
Will you be able to sync upon multiple Android devices?
ReplyDeleteI work from my desktop and use a tablet AND cell phone when away from the office. I hate having to sync and un-sync devices. Then I hate when I forget to do this.
I love MLO but as I continually have to use multiple devices, I would hate to have to look at an alternative.
Keep up the great work!
Support dev on Android and Mac.
ReplyDeleteHope those coming soon, MLO is the best task manager ever.
Password protection of my MLO file on Android would be excellent
ReplyDeleteI would love to be able to have several widgets on my phone, each with a different customised view - for example, a different project in each, or one widget showing today's tasks and another showing me my monthly goals.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteCould you please incorporate an option to include the project name to which the next action belongs to. The current version shows only the lowest level and many times I find it difficult to identify the project / tasks to which the next action belongs to. It would be great if there is an option to include multilevel hierarchy to the next action item.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteIs it possible to introduce filter for different projects as in the case of different contexts. Basically I would like to see the different active sub-tasks in different sub-projects in the chosen project.
Can you introduce an option to classify the some of the items listed in Inbox to @someday and not to show in outline?
Is it possible to add item to Inbox and later classify it under any of the existing project?
I am not sure whether these features are already existing? If so, please give the command for doing it.
Would like the option of a dark background. Is this a possibility?
ReplyDeleteWhen is this version coming?

ReplyDelete6 tasks to a screen! Fire your designer. Think about it. How can anyone manage their tasks when they can only see 6 tasks at anyone time? Retarded.
