MLO-Cloud Task by Email Coming Soon

I am happy to announce that the beta team has been testing the new functionality of MLO-Cloud: “Task by Email”.

Here is how it will work:
1. You assign a secret email address to your file on MLO-Cloud in the web interface.
2. When you send email to this address it is automatically moved to <Inbox> folder in your Cloud file. And the next time you sync with the Cloud you will see this task in your MyLifeOrganized client. The email subject will be assigned to the task title and the plain text part of the email body will be placed to the task notes.

To protect from possible spam you can assign the addresses which are allowed to send tasks to your Cloud account. You can also change your secret email at any time.

During this week the beta team has found a few problems if using some of email clients which have been already fixed and the service is working normally. The planned release date is January-February since we need to change the web interface a little.

In the future we plan to extend the Task by Email functionality. For example you will be able to set some task properties in the email or assign specific folder or project where this task should be placed in your Cloud file.

Let me also note that the auto-sync is a priority task on our list. This function is being tested on MLO-Android by the beta team. After that the auto-sync feature will be implemented on the major MyLifeOrganized clients. And yes, we understand that with introducing of the auto-sync the new Task by Email feature will be even more useful.

Tell us how you think we can improve the Task by Email functionality?

  3. I love it - now my partner can send emails to make sure I get done things I've forgotten to put on the task list!

A WSDL API would be very useful to do the same thing..

  7. I think this is great as well. I don't have any suggestions at the moment. Just wanted to encourage everyone at MLO to keep up the great work as this helps us a lot!

  8. Sounds excellent, I will use that function many times every day! But the most important MLO issue for me right now is to get the iPad version which I am eagerly waiting for. Can you reveal the status and release plan?

  9. Great functionality.

Would be great too to allow enclosed files : could join to the mail an audio file (for vocal memos) or a picture (photo or script / drawn memo).

  10. I'm already using MLO both at home and on my Android tablet, synced via MLO-Cloud. I also send myself emails when I'm out and don't have the tablet with me so this is the only piece missing from the puzzle for me. What does one have to do to get on the beta team?

  11. Hi, a couple of things. (a) Concept drawings look fantastic! (b) Emailing to and adding documents to (did I see that or am I imagining it?) are great! (c) I am an Android (tablet and phone) and Windows user so if there was any way to add Google contacts/emails etc to tasks, that would just be over the top! (d) I work for a small NGO and we are cross platform (Windows, Android (phones and tablets), Mac (laptops, iPads and iPhones) so etas on new developments, site licences with a not for profit deal, would be really cool to know about.

SOOOO looking forward to the updates. Excellent apps, thanks heaps for them. Love your work!

  13. Really stoked about this feature!

I email myself tasks all the time and then manually add them to MLO. This makes life so much easier. Thank you!!

Any news on the auto Syncing?
