Contexts, tags, flags — why so many options?

Contexts are the life situations in which you are. They display the blocks that make up an active day: @Home, @Office, @Calls, and so on.

Tags can be used for people you interact with. It is convenient to select tags from a drop-down list or assign them with hotkeys.

Features of tags, unlike contexts:

  • You can only assign one tag. And this is good, because even if it is a group of people, only one person is responsible for the task, on whose court the ball is now.
  • If the tag is not assigned to any task, then it automatically disappears from the list. Thus, you do not spend time searching among irrelevant contacts.

Flags can indicate the status of a task in relation to a person: assign, await, discuss, etc.

Before the meeting, switch the view to "Active by flags" and set an additional filter by tag. You can see a quite interesting set of context + tag + flag + task name.

This is just an example. MLO is a universal flexible system, which you can use the way you like.
